As theatre director and workshop leader I've led workshops in Devised Theatre, Visual Theatre and Approaches to Shakespeare and Creating Character in the UK for YMT UK, Theatre Workshop Brighton, the British Ballet Organisation and Beside Ourselves Collective. Internationally I've worked for the British Council and 1927 in Spain, Israel and Jordan and across America with Aquila Theatre.
I’m deeply influenced and inspired bu the power of Myth and Archetypes in theatre and have created three new works of theatre for YMT UK exploring these subjects. My first adventure was the Seventh Muse - an epic show devised with 36 awesome young women at the Barbican in Plymouth. Drawing inspiration from Jean Shinoda Bowen's "Goddess in Everywoman". (Composer: Craig Adams, Choreography: Tom Jackson Greaves)
Then came Harvest Fire at the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen with music by Mairi Campbell and David Francis. Another devised show inspired this time by "King, Warrior, Magician, Lover: Rediscovering the Archetypes of the Mature Masculine" by Robert Moore (Choreography: Tom Jackson Greaves)
In 2017 I adapted and directed The Great Gatsby at South Hill Arts, Bracknell and the cast were exemplary, we were blessed with a fabulous creative team and succeeded in bringing the quintessential American classic to the stage. (Composer: Adam Gerber, Choreography: Steve Kirkham, Video design: Joe Stathers & Design: Hannah Boothman).
Andin 2018 I led a deep diving devising process to create WILD with a cast of 39 young women at the Barbican Theatre in Plymouth. Inspired by myths and legends from the wild woman in "Women Who Run With The Wolves". (Composer: Charlotte Harding, Movement Direction: Katy Ayling, Design: Amelia Thomson)
